Araw ng Kasarinlan

For over 300 years, the Philippines was a Spanish colony, and is named after King Philip II of Spain.   The Philippines has two  days of independence. Celebrated on  June  12th, it  recognizes the day the islands  were liberated  from Spanish rule. However,  US  forces occupied the Philippines until 1946. Independence came on July 4, the same day as  US  Independence Day, but Filipinos recognize June 12 as the day of their  legitimate  independence.  The independence  of the Philippines was a  great achievement.    Independence Day commemorates  the sacrifices of  national heroes, honors  the  country's sovereignty, instills  nationalism in citizens,  and celebrates  the culture and  traditions  of its people.    parades  are held  nationwide  with  the  participation  of  the  government...

My Mentor, my Mother

Being a mother is one of the  toughest  and most underrated jobs women  can  experience. But my mother always  shows  me that being a mother is  a  blessing.   My mother is my everything, she always  supports me in  all the things I want to  do , and even when she  disagrees,  she  listens  and  supports  me. She never gives up on me and believes I can do anything I put my mind to. She has taught me so many things in my life, starting with how to tie my shoes and how to ride a bike. She taught me that there  is something  new to learn every day. She taught me how to be a good mother by showing  me what  a  good  mother she is. My mother never  gave  up on me and I will never give up on her! And I promise her that I will do everything I can to make her proud. For her to recognize that I appreciate all the things she has done to make me who I am today....

“The need to be educated”

From traditional to digitalized media where information’s hard to achieve to a digitalized media where information and data are highly accessible in just a single click, surely the world has vastly changed. Mostly nowadays teenagers are focused on online platforms where they can access any website they want with or without the consent of their parents. Yes, these online platforms give a lot of information about almost everything that you’re curious about but the problem is are all the information you read speaks about facts or is merely hearsay. Also because the world has become digitalized lots of people are focusing more on the present issues and present online teas they often forget the past. If not because of their school requirements I bet only a few people would be engaged in research and such. Instead of spending our spare time online lurking and stalking celebrities why don’t we be productive and use our spare time to research the things we don’t know. Just like the...

Day of Valor: commemorating the fall of Bataan

The Philippines is one of the historic countries worldwide, April 9, 1942, is one of the historic dates that have a significant impact on our country which is the Philippines. According to historians, the day of valor was meant to recall the thousands of Filipinos who dedicated their lives to free the country during world war II. This is the day that honors the death of those who sacrifice their lives for our country. We owe the country’s freedom to them so it is just right to have a day to commemorate them right? To my fellow students, let us not acknowledge “Araw ng Kagitingan” as a national holiday (which means no classes) instead let us honor the lives of our fellow Filipinos who give their lives defending our country. “Lent: A season of strengthening faith in God through abstinence, fasting and almsgiving”

Catholic worshipers are the believers of God’s existence. They are known to be religious to the extent that they have their own religious practices that they strictly follow to show their love and faith in God. One of their religious practices is shown during the Lenten season wherein Catholics scarifies during this season through abstinence and fasting.                Abstinence is the practice of not eating meat during the Lenten season while fasting is giving up certain luxuries in imitation of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice during his journey into the desert for 40 days. Not only this because lent is also a season of almsgiving which implies that worshippers of God should give those who ask instead of turning their back at them.                Though not every Catholics are strictly following all the dos and don’ts during Lenten season we are not in the place to judge their faith. “Raise your flag”

I often wonder what’s the criteria to be an empowered woman. Is an empowered woman need to be rich and successful in life? Is an empowered woman need to have a high-grade educational background? Or is empowered women need too many accomplishments to be called one? Even in present times, discrimination against a woman is still highly recognizable. Gone are the days were women just stayed at home while their husbands work for a living. Gone are the days when women need to be married to fulfill their duty as a woman. Lastly, gone are the days when women cannot even have the freedom to speak for their rights. The prejudices that women have suffered in the past drive them to stand up for their rights while fighting against the odds that one day women will be seen just like how people see men. Empowered women are those who have the will, courage, and bravery to fight for women’s rights in society. Empowered women are those who can influence other people to achieve something good no...

Celebration of the Christmas Season during the Pandemic in the Heritage City of Vigan

The Celebration of the Christmas Season during the pandemic in Vigan city is very colorful. Even though there is a pandemic (Covid-19), the City of Vigan still builds a giant Christmas tree that is thirty-seven (37) foot that is in front of Vigan City Hall and, the Christmas Village at Vigan Conservation Complex last November 27, 2020. Like what they usually do even before the pandemic but, fewer people are allowed to go out. And I’m just so happy and proud for them because even though they are already struggling financially and emotionally, they still find ways on how they can lighten their Christmas with their family and friends. To sum it all up, the Celebration of the Christmas Season during the Pandemic, in the Heritage City of Vigan is wonderful and amazing. It is because they followed the safety protocols to stop the spread of the virus(Covid-19). Reference:  http://vigancity.gov.ph/wp-content/uploads/2021/01/IMG_7961-713x1024.jpg

There is a lot of challenges that I encountered while doing the given activities, like having a hard time finding the best picture for my blog posts and following the steps in creating a link. But I'm so glad that I know how to use YouTube so, I just watch them on YouTube how to do the things that I can't understand well. Moving on, I'm glad that I can still be able to do and finish the things that I can't understand before. Celebrating the fiesta of Vigan city during the pandemic

The fiesta of Vigan City is held every January 25. It is celebrated during the feast day of the conversion of St. Paul the Apostle. St. Paul is Vigan City’s patron saint.   Vigan City’s fiesta is usually celebrated by participating in games and attending different activities like doing longganisa, empanada, bagnet, etc. parade. But all these activities only happen before the pandemic.   During the pandemic (Covid-19), the fiesta in Vigan City is celebrated by attending the mass. But some even took a video of the mass so that other people can watch it if they can't be able to do go out of their houses or they are in quarantine. New Year, New Me

The year 2021 gave me a lot of memories that make me sad and happy. But to me, those memories have a reason in my life. It might give me a life lesson that I haven't found out yet or, it just going to cheer me up to keep going in life.   This year 2021, we can't be able to meet or even hug my mother because this year 2021 should be her vacation in the Philippines, but unfortunately, the Pandemic started.   I become more aware of my attitude and, I also can hold my temper now when I'm angry at someone, but holding my temper means to me is crying inside my room, so that I can't be able to shout at them because I'm afraid that I might say words that might hurt their feelings.   Reference: https://www.google.com/urlsa=i&url=https%3A%2F%2Fquotesdaily.net%2Flifestyle%2Fnew-year-quotes-2021-motivational-quotes-for-the-new-year-on-freelancing-2%2F&psig=AOvVaw3KfT1Mav5vQQPbA-Kn-JFw&ust=1645018678028000&source=images&cd=vfe&ved=0CAsQjRxqFwo...

Children for the Better Future

Children are the ones that are the most affected during this time of the pandemic. They can't experience their childhood well because they are, obliged to stay at home for almost three years now. And it all involves their safety.   They are not allowed to shake hands with strangers and also not allowed to go to school like they usually do before the pandemic. Furthermore, for the past two years now, the students in the Philippines are, using the modular type of schooling. To make sure that the children and students are safe, the President and the DOH in the Philippines make those rules during this time of the pandemic.        So the DOH, research on how we can avoid getting the virus Covid-19. And that is washing         our hands properly with soap, following the 10 meters distance when going out in public           places, staying at home when there is nothing to do outside our houses and, most of a...
